   2011 Walk for Prems

Sunday 6th November 2011

Each year thousands of babies are born premature or sick, and a whole family begins the journey through neonatal intensive care units and special care nurseries.

On the 6th of November 2011 at locations throughout the country, families, friends and supporters walked for these special babies to help raise funds for the Life’s Little Treasures Foundation.

The major walk/fun run was held at Albert Park Lake in Melbourne where participants could take part in a timed 10km run, 5km run or 5km walk. This was followed by a wide range of entertainment including music, jumping castle, animal farm, face-painting and much more, with lots of families bringing picnics.

SydneyHobartAdelaide and Perth held smaller events consisting of a social walk and BYO picnics.

We are also thrilled to announce that 2,300 people attended the event throughout Australia and so far have raised $83,000!!  This is a fantastic result and not far away from  reaching our goal of $100,000.  Thank you very much to everyone who has either donated, sponsored or contributed in some way to achieve this figure.

For those who are fundraising through Everyday Hero for us,  the fundraising competition is still on and hotting up – so if you would like to be in a position to win one of the fabulous prize packages on offer and help us get close to our target, there is still time as the competition ends 30th November.  However, our Everyday Hero Page for Walk for Prems is open until 27th December so for those of you not taking part but would still like to help us, there is plenty of time to get your network to donate to your fundraising page.

For those of you who are not fundraising online but would still like to help us achieve $100,000,  please let your friends, family and colleagues know that they can donate directly online by going to http://www.lifeslittletreasures.org.au/donate/

Thanks again to the Foundation’s wonderful supporters and helping us raise awareness and funds to help premature and sick babies.

We will announce the winners of our fundraising competition after the 30th November and also the finally amount raised – so stay tuned!
