The Life’s Little Treasures Foundation organises Parent Support/Play groups at various venues, it also holds at it’s Chadstone location a monthly “Premmie & Beyond” Information Session, details below. This is a great opportunity for parents with premature babies to have a cuppa and chat and meet other parents in a similar situation. All venues are free of charge and siblings are welcome.

Unfortunately there may be times due to circumstances beyond our control that a group has be cancelled.  In this instint we do issue a cancelletion notice to all those on the group’s register, however if you are not yet on a group’s register please do contact us before coming to ensure that the group is running, to avoid a wasted journey.

The Groups are taking a short break over the holidays and will be back on track in February, we look forward to seeing you then

Chadstone/Malvern 

Premmie & Beyond Information Sessions

Providing Child Development Information, Support & Play for Families

North West Coast Support Group

Date: 1st Monday of every month

Meetings are held in the second house, on the right hand side as you enter the main gate.

Hospital Support

The Life’s Little Treasures Foundation also provides support to families that are currently going through the journey of prematurity within the hospitals we currently run two support groups with the assistance of social workers in the following hospitals. These support groups are only open to families that currently have a child in NICU/SCN.

Royal Women’s Hospital, Melbourne
Morning teas are held the first Wednesday of the month (except during school holidays) on the 4th (NICU) floor. This provides a great opportunity for parents with babies currently in NICU/SCU to meet parents who have been through this experience before. These morning teas are only available to parents who currently have babies in NICU or SCN at the hospital. If you would like further information then please either contact your social worker at the hospital or LLT on 1300 mypremmie or contact_us@lifeslittletreasures.org.au.

Day Group

  • Date: 1st Wednesday of each Month   (except during school holidays)
  • Time: 11.30am -1.00pm
  • Venue: Royal Women’s Hospital (4th floor)

Evening Group

  • Date: Last Wednesday of each Month (except during school holidays)
  • Time: 6pm – 7pm
  • Venue: Royal Women’s Hospital (4th floor)

Australian Playgroups Groups

Knox Premmies – Rowville , Vic

  • Time: 10.00am – 12.00pm
  • Dates: Friday – Fortnightly 
  • Address: Rowville Community Centre (Fulham Road) in the Tennis Pavillion room (blue/grey building) next to the tennis courts

  • Cost: Free to attend but you must be a member of Playgroup Victoria for insurance purposes. All new memberships for this group receive a discount at a cost of $15.00 a family for 1 years membership. Forms are available at the playgroup.

Loddon Mallee Kids – Bendigo Play Group

Other Support/Playgroup Resources

Playconnect Playgroups
Support families with children up to six years with an Austism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Families that have a child aged from 0-6 years with ASD, or ASD like symptoms, are welcome to join a PlayConnect Playgroup.

Playgroup Victoria
Playgroup Victoria is a not for profit organisation that helps families join, start and run playgroups.

MyTime
MyTime groups provide facilitated peer support for mums, dads, grandparents and anyone caring for children with a disability, developmental delay or chronic medical condition. Socialise and share ideas and information with others who understand the rewards and intensity of caring for a child with special needs.

Toy Libraries Victoria
The umbrella organisation for approximately 150 not for profit, toy libraries in Victoria. A toy library is a place where parents or carers can go to borrow a large variety of educational toys, puzzles and games on a regular basis.
