The Life’s Little Treasures Foundation organises Parent Support/Play groups at various venues, it also holds at it’s Chadstone location a monthly “Premmie & Beyond” Information Session, details below. This is a great opportunity for parents with premature babies to have a cuppa and chat and meet other parents in a similar situation. All venues are free of charge and siblings are welcome.

Hospital Support

The Life’s Little Treasures Foundation also provides support to families that are currently going through the journey of prematurity within the hospitals we currently run two support groups with the assistance of social workers in the following hospitals. These support groups are only open to families that currently have a child in NICU/SCN.

Royal Women’s Hospital, Melbourne
Morning teas are held on the

Afternoon Group

  • Day: First Wednesday of every month  (except during school holidays/Public Holidays)
  • Time: 3.30pm – 4.30pm
  • Venue: 4th floor (NICU) – Parents Retreat Room

Evening Group

  • Day: Last Wednesday of every month (except during school holidays/Public Holidays)
  • Time: 6.00 – 7.00pm
  • Venue: 4th floor (NICU) – Parents Retreat Room .

This provides a great opportunity for parents with babies currently in NICU/SCU to meet parents who have been through this experience before. These morning teas are only available to parents who currently have babies in NICU or SCN at the hospital. Playconnect Playgroups
Support families with children up to six years with an Austism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Families that have a child aged from 0-6 years with ASD, or ASD like symptoms, are welcome to join a PlayConnect Playgroup.

Playgroup Victoria
Playgroup Victoria is a not for profit organisation that helps families join, start and run playgroups.

MyTime
MyTime groups provide facilitated peer support for mums, dads, grandparents and anyone caring for children with a disability, developmental delay or chronic medical condition. Socialise and share ideas and information with others who understand the rewards and intensity of caring for a child with special needs.

Toy Libraries Victoria
The umbrella organisation for approximately 150 not for profit, toy libraries in Victoria. A toy library is a place where parents or carers can go to borrow a large variety of educational toys, puzzles and games on a regular basis.
