The Life’s Little Treasures Foundation organises many events to bring together prem families in a fun and enjoyable atmosphere. The mums and dads get to relax while the kids play and have fun.

2013 “Walk for Prems” – National Charity Fun Run / Walk

Each year thousands of babies are born premature or sick. With your help, Life’s Little Treasures Foundation can support these families along their journey.
On the 27th October 2013, at locations throughout Australia, families, friends and supporters are walking and running to raise funds for Life’s Little Treasures Foundation.
Life’s Little Treasures Foundation is Australia’s leading charity for families of children born premature or sick. We provide support, information and services to families when they need it most, with resources offered in hospitals throughout Australia and support when the family returns home.
The money you raise goes towards providing vital services, such as: hospital survival packs, iPhone applications, information sessions, telephone support line and parent support network.
Our flagship walk/fun run is held at Albert Park Lake in Melbourne, where participants can take part in a timed 10km run, 5km run or 5km walk. The walk/run is followed by a wide range of entertainment, including music, jumping castle, face-painting and much more. We hold smaller events in Sydney, Launceston, Adelaide, Canberra, Perth and Brisbane with a 5km walk only, children’s entertainment and BYO picnic.
In Melbourne, once you cross the finish line, pull out the picnic rug and celebrate with a tasty sausage while the kids enjoy great entertainment and music. There will be market stalls, cool down massages and a raffle with fantastic prizes.
In Sydney, Canberra, Adelaide, Launceston, Perth and Brisbane come and meet other families of premature/sick babies while enjoying a social walk, children’s entertainment and BYO picnic.
All locations have pram friendly walking tracks.
Do you have a child in hospital, a sick child at home, or do you live too far from a walk location? You can still particpate, simply register under the hospital/home and you will receive a “Walk for Prems” t-shirt to proudly wear as you take your short walk around hospital or home (even just round your block!).
